Hugs & Lattes is a lifestyle blog inspired by two things that I love:
coffee and affection.
Hugs are never a mandatory form of affection, but when we choose to spread our arms, we are choose to welcome the other person into our lives. Life is messy. Life is vulnerable. Life is chaotic. But life is fun. Life is joyful. Life, all around, is better when you hug each other.
And Lattes are little coffee hugs for your heart.
Hugs and Lattes started off as, “Woes of a College Student,” which turned into, “The Grand Adventures of Me,” over the course of 5 years. “The Grand Adventures of Me” sounded grandiose when Nina looked back and realized all she truly does is talk a lot about love and drink coffee. Thus, Hugs and Lattes was born on August 17th, 2015.
Facts You Didn’t Need to Know About Nina:
-She is only 5’1/2″. She is very short.
-What she lacks in height, she makes up for in noise and personality. No one has ever described her as “that quiet girl.”
-Surprisingly, a lot of people have told her that she intimidates them when they first meet her. This makes her sad. She doesn’t want to be intimidating. She is sorry that she is loud, and that she has resting brat face. She is actually a really joyful and exciting person. That is probably why people are intimidated by her. She can be a lot to take in at first.
-She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in English (Creative Writing Emphasis) and Psychology as well.
-She puts both degrees to use often, by making up back stories for the interesting people she sees walking down the road.
-She loves Jesus, singing loudly, reading, and Netflix.
-She has five younger brothers and sisters. All from the same two parents. Who got married right out of high school.
-She is married to an unbelievably handsome man who is from Zimbabwe and has a ridiculously long name. They made eyes at an Anti-Valentine’s Day party in college and have been smitten with each other ever since. They both love Jesus a lot, love each other a lot, like to eat cheesecake, and take day trips to hippie towns.
-She likes to encourage people and make them laugh, all in one breath. Here’s to hoping you enjoy this space.
Got all that?
